'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane cools on Premier League comeback

Kane celebrates his 100th goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has declared that his enthusiasm in going back to the Premier League has faded and he is prepared to negotiate a new contract with Bayern Munich.

The star striker is presently halfway through the four-year contract he agreed to when joining from Tottenham Hotspur for a substantial fee in the summer of 2023.

The experienced forward has accumulated an outstanding 103 goals in 106 matches for the German club, helping them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which marked the first significant honor of his notable career.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has earlier stated that he would welcome to see Kane go back to England, where he needs 48 goals to surpass Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League scoring feat of 260.

However, the England leader has now indicated that he is no longer as eager about returning home as he previously was, and would definitely think about prolonging his stay in Bavaria.

"In terms of remaining longer, I could definitely see that," he stated.

"I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they were to occur I would be willing to talk and have an frank conversation.

"Obviously it hinges on how the next year or so unfolds and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment and I am not focusing about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had questioned me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have discovered in my career is that different chances and different moments happen and things work out. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am completely all in with Bayern."

Record-breaking Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the historic top scorer for both Tottenham and England and lately became the quickest player this century to achieve 100 goals for a club participating in one of Europe's top five competitions, reaching the landmark in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a title had avoided him until he secured the German title last season.

Kane admits that he was not sure how he would respond after overcoming his trophy drought, but now feels it has made him hungry for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be tempting to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he explained.

"But it's given me more drive to do more and be better. I think I've shown that this year.

"I was intrigued in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to accomplish in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I challenged myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Future Prospects

  • Ongoing success with Bayern Munich remains Kane's main focus
  • The possibility of a Premier League return has considerably decreased
